Dear Dr. Morris:
In connection with the Preoperational Test Program for Oconee Nuclear Station Unit No. 1, which is under construction pursuant to provisional construction permit CPPR-33, Duke Power Company submits herewith copies of the following report in response to requests by your staff:
" Description of Cause and Correction of Damage to Control Rod Drive Mechanisms During Preoperational Testing of Oconee No. 1" Three copies of this report are attached. Thirty-seven copies are being transmitted under separate cover.
This report was written to document the activities associated with control rod drive damage which occurred during initial checkout of the drives as part of the Preoperational Test Frogram for Ocenee Unit No. 1.
