Re: Oconee Nuclear Station Docket Nos. 50-269, -270, -287
Dear Sir:
Pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 50.55a and your letter dated April 26, 1976,. a review of the Oconee Nuclear Station Technical Specifications and Section XI of ASME Boiler and Pressure Code has been performed to determine if conflicts exist in the requirements of these two documents. No conflicts exist in which the Technical Specifications would preclude the inspections required by the current editions of ASME Section XI and addenda.
The commercial operability dates and the dates for commencement of the next 40-month inspection period for the Oconee Nuclear Station are as follows:
Oconee Unit Commercial Operation Start of 40-Month Inspection Period 1
July 14, 1973 November 15, 1976 2
September 9, 1974 January 9, 1978 3
December 16, 1974 April 16, 1978 A review is in progress to determine the practicability of conformance to the ASME Section XI inservice inspection and testing requirements. It is expected that this review will be completed in order to identify those components which cannot be tested by July 15, 1976.
Technical Specification revisions, if appro riate, will be submitted at that time.
