MEETING WITH DUKE POWER COMPANY AND BABC0CK AND WILCOX CO OCONEE 2/3 ECCS ANALYSIS November 3, 1972
SUMMARY
Reflood Model - There was considerabic technical discussion of the dif ferences between the reflood model (REFLOOD) used by B&W on the Oconee B&W stated application and the reflood model (Flood-1) used by the staff.would not make a differe that the differences between the twomodels l
the peak cladding temperatures calculated for the vent valve plants because B&W was g
the influence of the reflooding comes after peak temperatures.
told by the staff that Duke will be asked to recompute peak cladding temperatures for a spectrum of breaks using the CRF model (carryover rate fraction model) in the REFLOOD (B&W) code assuming several core flux shapes.
Core Flood T3nn Break _ - The Duke-B&W core flood line break analysis is at variance with the interim criteria acceptable ECCS analysis model, in B&W was as much as complete flood tank water bypass was not assumed.
advised that it will need to show by analysis that assuming less that complete bypass is technically conservative.
No major problems were surfaced in the discussion Small Break Analysis -
B&W was advised that Duke will be requestgd to analyze ofthisanglysis. break using the same method as used on the 0.3ft break in the 0.5 ft order to provide an overlap point between the small break model and the interim criteria model.
