Shao, Chief, Structural Engineering Branch, L OVERPRESSURE IN THE STEAM GENERATOR SUBCGIPARTMDir As a result of Containment Systems' review of the Oconee 2 & 3 reactor building subcompartments, it was discovered, by using cur-rent assumptions and analysis techniques, that the LOCA produced overpressure in the steam generator subcompartment, naybe about 4 psi higher than the original design overpressure. The applicant (Duke Power Co=pany) has reassessed the structural capability of the subcoupartment and concluded that it is adequate to withstand the higher value. The applicant's letter report is enclosed.
