DeYoung, Assistant Director for Pressurized Water Reactors, L OCOEE FUEL DENSITICATION - CERERIC MW REVIEW Last Wednesday, January 31, 1973, a meeting was held with M W and Duka Power Company on the M W fuel densification review to be performed by your group.
Although you had originally intended to conduct this generic review on Oconee 2/3, IC which was the pacing plant schedule wise,6H4 and Duke misunderstood (o? we forgot to tell them) and they did not submit detailed Oconee 2/3 data, but rather detailed data on Oconee 1.
They said Oconee 2/3 data would take additional time to submit but that they were ready to proceed if we reviewed Oconee 1.
I consulted R. C. DeYoung and announced at the meeting that the generic review would be switched using Oconee 1 in order to prevent a delay in the generic review.
Contrary to the proposed schedule suggested in H. E. Schierling's February 2, 1973 meno to you, relaxation in this generic M W review is not intended. In fact Three Mile Island review schedule presently calls for all TR input by March 1, 1973. The proposed schedule would extend the completion of your generic review to May 1, 1973.
I understand per discussion with you today, that you will not be able to meet the original March 1, 1973 date (requested la my meno of January 17, 1973) due to diversion of available manpower on other matters.
