Dear Mr. Giambusso:
Duke Power Company is filing herewith Amendment No. 39 to its Application for Licenses for the Oconee Nuclear Station, which is under construction pursuant to provisional construction permits CPPR-33, -34, and -35, by submitting seventy-three (73) copies of Revision No. 26 to the Final Safety Analysis Report.
Please insert the revised material in the Final Safety Analysis Report by following the attached tabulation identified as FSAR Revision No. 26.
The purpose of Amendment 39 is to revise the Oconee Units 1 and 2 and Units 1, 2, and 3 Technical Specifications in response to Mr. R. C.
DeYoung's letter of January 4, 1973; to respond to Mr. A. Schwencer's letters of October 25, 1972, October 31, 1972, and November 3, 1972; l
and document information presented to members of your staff verbally on January 4,1973 concerning the core flood line break.
Amendment 39 also incorporates the following Babcock & Wilcox reports:
1.
BAW-10054 " Fuel Densification Report" (PROPRIETARY) 2.
BAW-1387 "Oconee 1 Fuel Dansification Report" (PROPRIETARY)
Babcock & Wilcox has informed Duke Power Company that the above reports should be treated as confidential in nature since their disclosure would provide knowledgeable individuals with information which would impair B&W's competitive position. Accordingly, Duke Power Company hereby requests, pursuant to AEC Regulation 10 CFR 2.790, that the proprietary classification of this report be preserved and this r.eport be withheld from public disclosure.
