The following is a sumnary of information submitted to :RC in response to IE Bulletin 79-17 that I verbally reported at our !iay 6,19S0 acetieg in Los Angeles:

There are approxirnately 41 plants (excluding Ti!I 1 & 2; covered by IE Culletin 79-17, and 14 plants have completed inspection of the required 10% sampleoof ucidnents (sone have inspected up to 23% of the veldaents) and most have not found indications of cracks. Up to May 2, 1980, the only indications found are in the containment spray lines in one plant (these lines had previous problers up to late 1973) and one plant with OD cracks in piping exposed to a seacoast environment. The inspections ucre c:ade with a dual eleacnt transducer developed by EPRI.

l The remaining plant inspections are to be cc:::pleted by :oveaber 1080.
