Dear Mr. Ippolito:
Your letter of April 25, 1980, supplied information from a generic General Electric study regarding the effects of a DC power supply failure on ECCS performance and requested that Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) provide a schedule for a full response on this issue.
An analysis of ECCS availability relative to DC power failure as requested in your letter will be provided to the Staff by August 29, 1980. An analysis of ECCS equipment qualification relative to flooding is currently in progress in conjunction with our work on IE Bulletin 79-01B and will be included with that submittal which is currently scheduled for September 17, 1980.
Yours very truly,
//
