' UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION DOCKET NOS. 50-325'AND 50-324 CAROLINA POWER & LIGHT COMPANY NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENTS TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSES The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Comission (the Comission) has issued Amendment Hos. 26 and 50 to Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-71 and DPR-62 issued to Carolina Power & Light Company (the licensee) which revised the Technical Specificati~ons for operation of the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant, Units Nos. 1 and 2 (the facility), located in Brunswick County, North Carolina.
The amendments are effective as of the date of issuance.
The amendments revise the Technical Specifications to (1) correct the table of safety related hydraulic snubbers, (2) provide for systematic implementation of instrumentation modifications, and (3) eliminate the requirement for removing the SRM " shorting links" during core alterations with control rods withdrawn.
The applications for amendments comply with the standards and requirements

of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Comission's rules and regulations. The Comission has made appropriate findings as required by the Act and the Comission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amendments.
Prior public notice of the amendments was not required since the amendments do not involve a significant hazards consideration.
-The Comission has determined that the issuance of the amendments will not result in any significant environmental impact and that pursuant to 10 CFR Section 51.5(d)(4), an environmental impact statement or negative declaration and environmental impact appraisal need not be prepared in connection with issuance of the amendment.
