LWR Primary Coolant System Pressure Isolation Valves
Dear Sir:
Reference (2) requested that we review the Low Pressure Safety Injection System and any other system which might have a valve configuration which.could lead to an Event V accident. The valve configurations which might lead to this event are two check valves in series, or two check valves in series with a motor operated valve.
The valve configuration of the low pressure and high pressure portions of the Safety Injection System are shown on attached drawing M-7.
Both portions have two safety class 1 check valves in series with a safety class 2 check valve, thereby providing three check valves in series which is not. an Event V arrangement.
Based on the above, Yankee Atomic Electric Company concludes that the Event V valve configuration does not exist at Yankee Rowe and further action is not required.
