SUBJECT:
DISTANCE TO NEAREST ADJOINING STATE BORDERS FROM DUKE 'S OCONEE SITE Pursuant to your request, we have examined the Duke Power Company's application for the Oconee Nuclear Station to determine the overland distance from the proposed site in South Carolina to the nearest adjoin-ing State borders. From information contained in the application, we have determined that the nearest border of the State of Georgia la approximately 16 miles northwest of the site and the nearest border of the State of North Carolina is approximately 17 miles north-northwest of the site.
It should be noted that portions of the Hartwell Reservoir, which is located downstream from the site, border on the State of Georgia approximately 30 miles south o f the site.
