RESOLUTION At a special nesting of the Town Board of Commissioners held at 10:00 A. M. March 1,1973 the following commissioners were present:
Glenn H. Clay, T. C. Robinson, C. M. Hice, Robert Wakefield, Paul Williams and W. P. Simmons.
With all board nenbers being present the following action was +A==a RESOLVED that the Municipality of Granite Falls having been advised by legal council as to the consequences of doing i

" RESOLUTION WITHDRAWING CITY OF NEWTON FROM PROCEEDING BEFORE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA ATOMIC ENERGY COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, the City of Newton has heretofore been joined as a party intervanor in that certain proceeding pening before the United States Atomic Energy Commission in that certain case known as "In The Matter of Duke Power Company, (Oconee Un'.ts 1, 2, and 3; McGuire Units 1 and 2), Docket Nos. 50-269A, 50-270A, 50-287A, 50-369A, and 50-370A";
AND WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Newton by resolution at a regular meeting of said Board on the 3rd day of June, 1969, withdrew as a party in said proceeding and advised its legal counsel of this action.
AND WHEREAS, formal notice of said action has not been entered in the records of the proceeding and the City of Newton is still shown as a party in said proceeding; AND WHEREAS, the City of Newton, acting through its Mayor and Board of Aldermen, has determined that said City of Newton shall voluntarily with-draw from said proceeding as a party intervenor and that formal notice of this decision be given to legal counsel representing the intervenors (Cities) and to Hon. Walter W. K. Bennett, Chairman, The Atomic Safety ind Licensing Board; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF THE CITY OF NEWTON, NORTH CAROLLNA:
Section 1.
That the City of Newton, North Carolina does voluntarily withdraw as a party intervenor in that certain proceeding pending before the United States Atomic Energy Commission entitled "In The Matter of Duke Power Company, (Oconee Units 1, 2, and 3; McGuire Units 1 and 2), Docket l
Nos. 50-269A, 50-270A, 50-369A, and 50-370A".
Section 2.
That Tally, Tally & Bouknight, Attorneys at Law, Fayette-ville, North Carolina, legal counsel for Intervenors (Cities) be and they are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to cause such motions, petitions, notices or other documents or pleadings as may be necessary and required to be filed in said proceeding for and on behalf of the City of i
Newton to dismiss the City of Newton as a party in said proceeding and do any and all things necessary or required to effect the said withdrawal of
