Dear Sir:

In your letter of November 10, 1977, additional information was requested concerning the Oconee Nuclear Station Turbine Building Flooding Problem.

The answers to these questions were scheduled to be provided by January 16, 1978, but will be delayed until af ter a joint NRC/DPR meeting to be held.in Washington on January 18, 1978.. At this meeting, a description of an independent safe shutdoun facility, which Duke is considering in-stalling at Oconee, will be presented. This system would address security and fire protection concerns as well as the Turbine Building flooding issue at Oconee Nuclear Station.
