JAN 12 Eu I&FT5 COMMENTS ON OCONEE QUESTIONS The changes made to the I&PT5 questions are of the following type :
The change does not alter the intent of the original question; a.
b.
The change has deleted all or part of the original question and, therefore, no longer requests the desired information; c.
The change is technically incorrect; d.
The change requests more information than originally requested.
The changes to Questions
- 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10a, lla, lid, 12, 14-17 and 19-23 are of type a. above and are acceptable. However, since questions 3, 4, 6, and 7 are " standard questions" which have been sub-mitted to other applicants and have resulted in our obtaining the desired information, we don't see a need for any changes.
The changes to Questions 1, 2, 5, 10b,and 18 are of type b. above.
For example - Question 2 requested information on two points:
1.
Are the RPS and ESF equipment capable of action during the maxi: sum peak acceleration; and 2.
Would cooling be interrupted if a seismic disturbance occurred after an accident?
- The question numbers are those assigned in RT-744A.

I&FTB Comments on 2
l Oconee Questions i
l The change has deleted the latter point.
In addition, Questions i
[
2 and 5 are " standard questions." We request that the original ques-tions 2, 5, 10b and 18 be reinstated.
In the case of Question 1, we appreciate RP's objection to the original wording and request that the l
following wording be used.
\\
In regard to the systems which actuate reactor trip and engineered t
safety feature action, identify those features of the design which diffar from the criteria of IEEE 279 and the Commission's General Design Criteria. Explain the reasons for any differences.
The change to Question lic is of type c. above. The 75AA clearly states that the low pressure reactor trip setpoint,is 1800 psig. We request that the original wording of 11e be used.
\\
i Changes of type d. above appear in Questions 12, 21b, and 23.
Since we did not request the additional information, we have no conument on this type change end assume that RF intends to evaluate the responses.
