Thank you for your letter of April 25, 1970 requesting a copy of AEC publication TID-14844 and information concerning Duke Power Company's application for construction permits and cperating licenses and other l
pertinent documents related to the three-unit Oconee Nuclear Power Station, which is currently undergoing review for operating licenses.
In addition to the copy of TID-14844 we are enclosing a copy of the AEC's Safety Evaluation dated August 4,1967.
It covers our review of Duke Power Coczpany's application for authorization to construct the Oconee Nuclear Station.
Following a public hearing held on August 29 and 30 and September 12, 1967 in Walhalla, South Carolina, the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board issued its initial decision authorizing the issuance of the construction permits for the three reactors at the Oconee station. A copy of that decision, dated November 3,1967, as well as a copy of the permits which were issued pursuant to that deci-sion are enclosed also. The transcript of the public hearing is on file in the Cotatission's Public Document Room,1717 H Street, N.U.,
Washington, D.C.
