l The document relates to Duke Power Company's Oconce Nuclear Station Unit i located on the Company's site in Oconee County, South Carolina.
It should be noted that the Safety Evaluation, dated December 29, 1970, was issued
's prior to the announcement of the AEC's Interim Policy Statement (issued on June 25, 1971 and later publianed in the Federal Register) concerning Emergency Core Cooling Systems (ECCS). Based upon that policy statement, the applicant submitted new ECCS information which was evaluated and the AEC's evaluation is su=sarised in Supple:nent No.1.
Also enclosed is a copy,of the Safety Evaluation previously inaud in this q
nuclear power reactor' licensing proceeding.
