Dear Mr. Hubbard:
The Atomic Energy Comaission has submitted to the Office of the Federal Register for filing and publication a notice relating to the proposed I
issuance of a facility operating license which would uthorize the Duke Power Corgany to possess, use, and operate the Oconce Nuclear Station Unit 1, a pressurized water type nuclear reactor, on the applicant's site in eastern Oconce County, South Carolina.
The reactor is capable of operation at a power Icvel of 2568 megawatts thermal.
Initially, the maxicum power level will be restricted to 2452 cegawatts thermal.
Lt.ter, as set forth in the enclosed notice, the facility will be authorized to operate at steady state power levels not to exceed 2568 megawatts thereal.
Copies of the notice and the proposed operating license are enclosed for your information. Copies of a related safety evaluation prepared by the Division of Reactor Licensing and an environnental statenent referred to in the notice will be sent to you as soon as they becow available.
