Conway Executive Director Joint Cocunitter on Ato:mic Energy Congress of the United States Dear Mr. Conway Enclosed for tha information of the Joint Committee is a copy of a notice which has been transmitted to the Office of the Federal Register for filing and publication. The notice relates to an application filed by Duke Power Company for authcrization to construct and operate a two-unit nuclear power plant at the applicant's Oconee site in eastern Oconee County, approximately eight miles northeast of Seneca, South Carolina.
The prc, posed nuclear pcver plant will consist of two pres-surised vater reactors, designated as the Oconee Nuclear Station Units 1 and 2 cach of which is designed to operate initially at 2452 thermal megawatts with a met electrical output of approximately 839 messwatts. The Oconee Station Units i sad 2 are scheduled for completion of construction in May 1971 and May 1972, respectively.
