Atlanta, Georgia 30303 Re: Oconee Unit 1 Docket No. 50-269
Dear Mr. Moseley:
The following information discusses the limited usage of Unit i letdown cooler "A" and is submitted as a supplemental response to Reportable Occurrence Report R0-269/76-12.
Evaluation of the impact of the use of letdown cooler "A" has been completed.
It is concluded that limited usage within Technical k.
Specification and FSAR requirements, and under the following restrictions, will not adversely affect the operation of the unit or its components.
The unit operation will continue with letdown cooler "A" isolated except as stated under the follow.og conditions:
1.
The letdown cooler now in use indicates leakage and use of the subject cooler is needed to evaluate its leakage rate.
2.
The letdown cooler now in use has a higher leakage rate than the isolated cooler.
3.
During restart from a trip or shutdown the letdown cooler can be operated for a period not to exceed 24 hours2.777778e-4 days
0.00667 hours
3.968254e-5 weeks
9.132e-6 months
without further l
evaluation.
Monitoring of the letdown coolers and the Component Cooling System l
will be maintained to assure operation within appropriate limits for reactor coolant leakage.
Very truly yours sea 5
