Dear Dr Morris:
Reflecting our engineering and construction work subsequent to submittal of the PSAR, including Supplement No 5, we have found it necessary to correct and/or change the several areas as IIsted below. We believe that all changes will either not affect or will enhance the integrity and safety of the plant.
Section 5 - Containment System f_agg Paraaraoh jdag Summary of Chanaes 5-13 5.1.2.9 2
Delete last sentence referring to cooling coils in primary shield.
Cooling coils are omitted since study concluded that peak concrete temperature during normal operation is conservatively estimated at 138' which is well within the 150* limit for sustained temperature exposure to concrete.
50-15 4.2 Correction:
In third complete paragraph on the page, revise first sentence to read as follows: "In addition to the visual inspection, randomly selected splices shall be tenslie tested in accordance with the following schedule for each position, bar size and grade of bar:"
Insert new paragr.aph after third complete paragraph, as follows:
" Test spilces may be made by having test bars of 3 ft length spliced in sequence with the production bars.
In addition, two production splices will be cut out and tested for each 100 test splices."
This additional paragraph will eliminate the need for cutting out test splices from the production work and replacing them with two additional spilces while still maintaining actual on-site conditions, i

8 Correction:
Change A442, Grade 55 to A516, Grade 60.
This change was made to facilitate ultrasonically testing plate.
SE-3 10 2
Correction:
Change ASTM A442 to ASTM A516 for the same reason.
