GE:ERAL ELECTRIC IF-300 SHIPPING CASK DOCKET 71-9001, CERTIFICATC !;0. 9001, REV. 9, HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PIM APPLICATION Gentlemen:
General Electric requests an an:end.nent to Certi ficate of Compliance 9001, Revision 9 for the IF-300 spent fuel shipping cask.
This amendment would 1) permit the shipping of hign pressure fuel rods in the dry shipping mode of the IF-300 cask; 2) pernit the use of Target Rc.k Valve 73J-001 Rev. H and J as previously permitted by item 17. in the Certificate of Compliance, Revision 8; 3) require acceptance testing during or follcuing fabrication to assure adequute gamma ray shielding; and 4) require hydrostatic testing of the cask following fabrication.
Enclosed is a check fcr $3500.00 as prescribed in Part 170.31 (11) (A) for mir.or amendments.
The supporting information and analyses for this a'nendment request is in the attached Revision 2A package for review and insertion into the Consolidated Safety Analysis Report for the IF-300 shipping cask, NEDD-ICOS;-2, dated October 1979.
