In view of the concerns expressed in IE Information Motice 79-37, dated December 28, 1979, both Fort Calhcun Station low pressure turbine rotors have been examined by General Electric Company in accordance with the surveillance recommendations set forth in Genert: Electric document TIL 857 These examinations consisted of ul+.casonic inspection of the rotors' tangential entry dove tails and wheel bores. No crack-like indicstions were found in either the dove tails or wheel bores. As such, the turbine has been Judged to be satisfactory for continued operation and 4111 be returned to service following our current refueling out-age.

The turbine is a h80 MWe veneral Electric unit, serial number 170Xhl7 Sincerely, (f\\
