We are writin6 to you to ask you to investigete a federal action that will take place at the Dresden I huclear power Plant later on this year. The procedure involved is an experiment tBnt will attempt to c2ernout radioactive corrosive products that are plu6.ing the piping of the nient. Approximately 10,000 to 20,000 pounds of a proprietary Dow Chemical solvent containing chelating agents will be pumped into the pipes, allowed to stand for 100 hours, flushed out and then evaporated to reduce the end product to 450 to 1,000 pounds. ~~ We are concerned by the apparent lack of research tha t has been done by the Nuclear Regulatory Co= mission on the potential health hazards of these substances which will be bonded with radioactive heavy metals A study
