Nebraska Public Power District has notified the staff of the removal of the No. 1 disc from one of the low pressure turbines at your Cooper Nuclear Station facility due to significant cracks in the kayway and/or bore region.
In our conversations with nembers of your staff concerning your corrective actions, we indicated our desire to obtai= a repreaantative section of the flawed disc area for an independent natallurgical analysis by our consultant at 3rookhaven Nacional Laboratory.
