Announcement and Invitation SEVENTH WATER REACTOR SAFETY RESEARCH INFORMATION MEETING November 5-9, 1979 National Bureau of Standards (NBS)
Gaithersburg, Maryland The Division of Reactor Safety Research, Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research, NRC, will hold its Seventh Water Reactor Safety Research Information Meeting at the National Bureau of Standards on November 5-9, 1979. The five-day meeting will highlight research results and accomplishments achieved during the past year. Concurrent sessions covering major research areas are planned as follows:
LOFT and Separate Effects Tests and Analyses - November 5 and 6 Metallurgy and Materials Research -
November 5 and 6 Analysis Development Programs -
November 7 and 8 Fuel Behavior Research -
November 7 and 8 Reactor Operational Safety Program -
November 9 The agenda identifying the topics to be presented and the speakers will be.
sent to you at a later date. The agenda will again include a number of invited papers covering reactor safety research work perfomed outside of the United States.
It will also include a number of workshops to pemit open discussion of special topics in reactor safety research.
There will be a registration fee of $6.00 per day for each day of attendance at.the meeting, payable at the time of the meeting. Please do not send in advance payments.
The registration charge is necessary to defray costs of prep. aid luncheons and refreshments.
Cafeteria ti::kets will be issued as in the past and access to the cafeteria can only be made through the presentation of a cafeteria ticket.
Those intending to attend this meeting should make their own arrangements for motel-hotel accomodations and transportation to the meeting site (NBS).
Infomation on motel accomodations is enclosed with this announcement. We are planning to have bus service from the motels listed to NBS for NRC and DOE personnel, including NRC contractors, consultants, and foreign visitors.

Motel Information for the Seventh Water Reactor Safety Research Information Meeting, November 5-9, 1979 Motel reservations and the confirmation of motel reservations are the responsibility and the option of in dividuals planning to attend the Water Reactor Safety Research Information Meeting.
Reservations should be made early to assure accommodations.
Although the motels listed on this infor-mation sheet have set aside blocks of rooms for attendees at the safety meeting, this does not constitute an endorsement of these motels by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and other motels in the area may be contacted for accommodations.
When making reservations please indicate (for the motels listed) that you are planning to attend the 7th Water Reactor Safety Research Information Meeting sponsored by NRC as a means of expediting and assuring reservations within the blocks of rooms being held for this pur-pose.
