ANNOUNCEMENT AND INVITATION FOR THE SEVENTH WATER REACTOR SAFETY RESEARCH INFORMATION MEETING, NOVEMBER 5-9, 1979 Pursose:
To infom the Commissioners of the status and plans for the subject meeting.
Discussion: The enclosure contains the announc sent and invitation, motel information, and registration form for the Seventh Water Reactor Safety Research Information Meeting, which will be held at the National Bureau of Standards in Gaithersburg, Maryland, November 5-9, 1979..Similar meetings on Water Reactor Safety Research have been held annually since December 1973.
The 1979 meeting will feature progress and technical achievements in safety research covering the period since last year's meeting, which was held November 6-9, 1978.
f A detailed agenda will be printed and distributed before the end of August 1979.
It will again feature a number.of papers by foreign reactor safety experts who will be invited to speak on.special topics in the field of water reactor safety.
Invitations to participate in this meeting will be extended to government, industry, and research organizations i
from the United States, Canada, most European countries, and Japan.
Representatives of various public interest organizations and news media will also be invited to this meeting.

. Last year's meeting was attended by a total of 727 persons.
Of this total, 175 came from thirteen different European countries, Canada and Japan.
