As requested in Mr. R. L. Baer's letter of March 10, 1980 Duke Power Company has reviewed the proposed Ames Laboratory statistical design parameters for the McGuire containment.
This review is attached as is the additional infor-mation requested by Mr. Baer regarding the equipment hatch and personnel air lock penetrations of the McGuire containment.

Duke Power Company has reviewed the Ames Laboratory table entitled
" Statistical Parameters for Design Variables, McGuire Nuclear Plant,"
enclosed in the aforementioned letter reference. The tabulated geometri-cal data appears accurate and reasonable. The tabulated data on material properties are at variance with properties of actual plate materials sup-plied for the McGuire Containments.
Enclosed is a statistical summary, developed by the Duke Engineering Staff, of material properties of Con-tainment plate and weld filler metal from certified mill test reports.
