REPORT

(:)

Georgia Power Company Plant E. I. Hatch Baxley, Ga.

31513 Reportable Occurrence Report No. 50-366/1980-037 With the reactor in cold shutdown, chloride concentration in the Unit II reactor water was found to be 0.116 ppm. Technical Specifications Table 3.4.4-1 limit of 0.1 ppm was exceeded.

Corresponding conductivity was 2.2 umhos. This is within the limit of 10 pmhos.

The cause of this event has been attributed to the reactor water cleanup system being out of service for repair for 26 days. The reactor water cleanup system was repaired and returned to service within 24 ho,urs.

Chloride concentration was within limits before the Technical Specifications requirement of 48 hours5.555556e-4 days
0.0133 hours
7.936508e-5 weeks
1.8264e-5 months
was exceeded; therefore, an engineering evaluation was not necessary.

There were no effects on safe plant operatfor or public health and safety.

This is a non-repetitive occurrence. This event is not applicable to Unit I in that the Tech Specs limit for chlorides for Unit I is 0.5 ppm.
