SUPPLEMENTAL RESPONSE -
Month Energy - MWHRS Remarks November, 1979 147,977 December, 1979 102,083 1 unit down for maintenance January, 1980 1 unit down for maintenance February, 1980 The MWHR figures listed above were calculated as follows:
Coal-fired economy (Available coal-fired capability x energy available
= number of hours / month in service) for sale (Total monthly net generation)
These MWHR figures do not reflect the 6% to 20% Available Capability that should be maintained in a unit as spinning reserve to adhere to the Texas Interconnected System Operating Agreement.
In order to determine this value would require a lengthy detailed research of operation's daily generation logs on an hour by hour basis.
These MWHR figures also do not reflect the fact that a large percentage of the energy available was available only during off-peak hours, usually between 2400 - 0500 hours0.00579 days
0.139 hours
8.267196e-4 weeks
1.9025e-4 months
each day and on Sundays when all systems experience minimum loads and usually cannot take advantage of the benefits of economy-energy purchases.
Therefore, the MWHR figures listed above should be viewed as maximum available coal-fired economy energy, and not economy energy that could have been utilized in its entirety because of practical system operating constraints.
