Dear Mr. Smith:
h As promised in our December 22, 1972 letter, we wish to advise you of our program for correcting suspect defective torque switches in Models SMB-00 and -000 Limitorque valve operators.
It is our understanding that the serial number range for these torque switches are from 90609A to 142773. We have identified sixty three valves at Rancho Seco that fall within this range. We have ordered new replacement torque switches from Limitorque and these will be installed in all plant safety related valves equipped with Limitorque operators of this range.
It is our intention to commence this replacement program at cnd the first of March and it will run until mid-summer 1973 when the last motor operated valves are scheduled for delivery to the site.
Af ter installation of the new switches, the valve operators will be tested for proper operation.
Records of all discrepant torque switches that are replaced will be on file at the jobsite for your inspector's review.
If you have any questions about our corrective actions,' we will be glad to discuss them with you.
