- 3. PROVISION FOR DEPRECIATION The District provides for depreciation on the historical cost of the electric properties on a straight-t line basis at rates determined by engineering st> dies. Beginning in 1957 additional amounts were provided representing the difference between depreciation computed on p9perty adjusted to cur-rent price levels and depreciation based on the historical cost. In 1968 and 1967 such additional provisions amounted to $1,516,000 and $1,278,000, respectively.
- 4. CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM AND FINANCING Estimated construction expenditures in 1969 are $37,500,000, including $16,900,000 for the Rancho Seco nuclear generation project. The District estimates total construction costs of the nuclear gen-eration project over the next five years to be between $180,000,000 and $200,000,000.
The District plans to finance the above construction with the issuance of additional revenue bonds.
- 5. RETIREMENT PENSION PLAN The District's employees are covered by a contributory retirement plan administered by the State of Califomia. Contributions by the District for 1968 and 1967 amounted to $562,000 and $454,000, respectively.
