In Re:
Florida Power Corporation A.
Crystal River Nuclear Generating Plant Docket No. 50-302
Dear Mr. Giambusso:
Florida Power Corporction has been informed by Babcock 4 Wilcox that additional time is required to ensure the methods used for ATWS events analyses are reasonably predicting transient con-sequences.
We believe the delay from the October 1, 1974, fil-ing of the B6W Topical Report " Anticipated Transients Without Scram for Water-Cooled Power Reactors" to a December 13, 1974, filing date will have no effect on the operating schedule for Crystal Ri'..r #3.
For the interim period, Babcock 6 Wilcox has filed with the Commission a report entitled, " Interim Status Report, Anticipated Transients Without Scram, Babcock 6 Wilcox",
September 26, 1974, which contains preliminary results for the most severe ATWS events.
Following review of the final B6W ATWS Topical, an amendment will be made to the Crystal River Unit #3 Final Safety Analysis Report as appropriate.
Very truly yours, W
