j mental Statement, prepared by the Commission's Regulatory Staff, on enviremmental considerations under the Nationel Environmental Policy Act of 1969 relating to the facility identifie( below.

This Draft Environmental Statement was prepared 3 accordance with the statament of general policy and procedure on implementation of the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 as set out in Appendix D of the Commission's regulations,10 CFR Part 50. A notice of the avail-ability of the Draft Environmental Statement and request for comments from interested persons is being sent to the Office of the Federal Register for filing and publication (copies enclosed). A request for eoemaats also is being samt to appropriate Federal, State and local

' agencies.

After raceipt of the comments from Federal, State and local agemeias, we shall prepare a final environmental statement including, where appropriate, a discussion of say problems or objections raised and the disposition thereof, and forward copies of the statement to the Council.
