Dear Mr. Muntzing:

May 3rd marks the date of Florida Power Corporation's Eighth Semi-Annual Review of Environmental Research Programs at Crystal River. We now have another season of hard data and thus are much closer to drawing conclu-sions about the condition of the marine environment.

In addition, some interesting findings have resulted from the canal entrapment study, and these will be presented in detail.

Although not directly related to the Crystal River Project, but certainly of interest to all concerned is the Florida Power Corporation - V. S.

Environmental Protection Agency NPDES Permit public hearing, scheduled for May 2nd, in Clearwater, Florida. The implications of imposing off-stream cooling at Anclote on the research programs currently underway there are definitely relevant to the research at Crystal River.

Because of this, some discussion of the proceedings of that NPDES Permit hearing will be included in the Semi-Annual Conference program.

Interested parties may wish to attend both the hearing and the Conference.

The public hearing will be held in the East Room of the Fort Harrison Hotel, 210 South Fort Harrison Avenue, Clearwater.

It will begin at 10:00 a.m.

The Semi-Annual Conference will be held the next day (May 3rd), beginning at 8:30 a.m., in Building "E" auditorium, Florida Power Corporation Central Office Complex, 3201 34th Street South, St. Petersburg.

Lunch will be provided at the Conference. A tentative agenda is enclosed for your review.

Please let our secretary, Cindy Hill, know be' fore April 19th, what members of your staff are planning to attend our Conference on the 3rd.

Her number here is (813) 866-5274. Our mailing address is P. O. Box 14042, St. Petersburg, Florida 33733.

We look forward to your participation.

Sincerely yours, Joel T. Rodgers Asst. Vice President JTR/mcm
