The Committee reviewed the proposed Regulatory Guide: QUALIFICATI0:
OF CLASS IE EQUIPMENT FOR fluCLEAR POWER PLANTS, and recommended approval.
2.
The Comittee reviewed Working Paper: DESIGil 0F MAIll STEAM ISOLATION VALVE LEAXAGE C0i4 TROL SYSTEMS FOR DIRECT CYCLE BWRs, and recom: ended approval subject to the following:
a.
The MSIVLCS piping connecting to the main steam line between the inner and outer containment isolation valves should have the special design and inspection requirements as discussed in the meeting.
b.
In addition to the requirements of C.9 as proposed, additional specific requirements for safety-grade valve interlocks should be included to prevent inadvertent valve operation when the steam line pressure exceeds the LCS, design pressure.
