JUSTIFICATION ESSEX CORPORATION NRC-04-79-209 4
Certain tasks outlined in the contract had to be completed without the use of some governmental furnished materials. Government furnished materials were not furnished or furnished late due to difficulty in obtaining materials from i
Metropolitan Edison Company and Burns and Roe.
In addition, the extended (6 week) illness of the Project Officer and delays in obtaining interviews with TMI-2 control room operators resulted in inefficiencies.
The ESSEX letter of October 5, 1979, from Dr. Thomas Malone to Ms. Mary Jo Mattia of NRC, provides reasonable justification for the cost overrun and the amount of additional funds is reasonable for the work performed.
