SUBJECT:

D0R Memorandum No. 4 GENERAL INFORMATION FROM OPERATING REACTORS g

-i This Memorandum establishes the femal method to be used to provide general information from operating facilities to other divisions of r

the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation.

g We frequently acquire information from operating facilities that does y

4 not involve significant safety or environmental issues.

Even though such infomation does not require imediate action by either the Division 3

of Operating Reactors or other NRR Divisions, in many instances it will I

be of interest to senior management within the Office. The Infomation

?

Memoranda described herein will serve primarily to enhance communications J

between divisions of the NRR. They are not intended as a substitue for

{

frequent, less fomal, infomation exchange.

f The material provided in the Infomation Memoranda should be written in condensed fom.

Additional details may be obtained from cognizant 5

00R personnel or from personnel of other NRR divisions who in many

/

instances will be fully informed through our routine, inter-division 5

work arrangements.

j Such infomation may be acquired from several sources. These include f

our routine project management work, routine infomation received from w

the Office of Inspection and Enforcement, our routine technical evaluations, I

site visits, and contractual assistance work.

{

If infomation reported in an Information Memorandum is subsequently found to involve significant issues, a follow up Operating Experience y

Memorandum should be prepared. The procedure for this is outlined in j

D0R Memorandum No. 2, July 6,1976.
