-i This Memorandum establishes the femal method to be used to provide general information from operating facilities to other divisions of r
the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation.
g We frequently acquire information from operating facilities that does y
4 not involve significant safety or environmental issues.
Even though such infomation does not require imediate action by either the Division 3
of Operating Reactors or other NRR Divisions, in many instances it will I
be of interest to senior management within the Office. The Infomation
?
Memoranda described herein will serve primarily to enhance communications J
between divisions of the NRR. They are not intended as a substitue for
{
frequent, less fomal, infomation exchange.
f The material provided in the Infomation Memoranda should be written in condensed fom.
Additional details may be obtained from cognizant 5
00R personnel or from personnel of other NRR divisions who in many
/
instances will be fully informed through our routine, inter-division 5
work arrangements.
j Such infomation may be acquired from several sources. These include f
our routine project management work, routine infomation received from w
the Office of Inspection and Enforcement, our routine technical evaluations, I
site visits, and contractual assistance work.

If infomation reported in an Information Memorandum is subsequently found to involve significant issues, a follow up Operating Experience y
Memorandum should be prepared. The procedure for this is outlined in j
D0R Memorandum No. 2, July 6,1976.
