Jamestown,Ny Apr il,4,I9 79 Nuclear Regulatory Connission Washingtown,D:

DeartStri Facts, surrounding the nuclear power plant at three mile island, are being miss led to the public, the day the accident occured a photo-graph appeared in the newspapers, showing a tectnection taking radiation samples arround the reactor building,he was not wearing any protection at all against radiation, this is pure stupidity on the part of all persons who work around nuclear reactors, especially after this type of a break-down has occured.

On monday a gas bubble was descovered in the reactor core, this hydrogen gas is in one of two states,it'sedeuteriun dio:ide or titretun a hydrogen isotope. If it's deutertun dio:ide, which it in all probility it is due to the fact that it can only be man made through nuclear process of salt water.Sence that is used as coolent in the reactor core, this is formed continiously in the process of cooling the core. The deuteriun is continiously being broke down in to ordinary water due to the a:igen in the atmosphire. One of the " brilliant" nuclear physicist at the plant stated that the only danger of the hydrogen bubbic e:ploding was if there is a:igen in the core, this is pure nonsence, hydrogen in this form will e:plode with out 0:ggen as this is a thermo-nuclear reaction"NOT A CHEL'ICAL s

REACTION".If the gas is titretun, the only way it would explode would be if tha' core let go if that had happened Iwould 'nt be around to send this letter.

I beleive the entire security of our power sourcesis totalty in-adecuate.The fact that in the past three years there have been more accidents involving power stations arround the nation, than in the previous

?$ years combined to gether. The sane thing has been true of our gas refinery plants also especially in t he last six monthse This a grave matter that concerns the attention of leaders of our nation,as we are at the mercy of the OPEC nations for our energy resources. They have every thing to gain by any disruption of our gas and electric power plants, this should be apparent to the politicians in Washington, but this appear.~

not to.

It's about time that the Washington bureaucrats wake up and start to worry about the American people, insted of trying to feed the rest of the world.
