Dear Mr. Giambusso:
Section 1.8 of the Technical Specifications for Oconee Nuclear Station Unit 1, which is under operation pursuant to Facility Operating License No. DPR-38, states, in part, that an abnormal occurrence is any occurrence of any plant condition that exceeds a Liriting Condition for Operation as established in the Technical Specifications.
Section 6.2 specifies the action to be taken in the event of an abnormal occurrence.
Section 6.6.2 specifies the reporting requirements of such an abnormal occurrence.
Pursuant to these sections of the Oconee Unit 1 Technical Specifications, please find attached for your information a report of an abnormal occurrence which rendered the Reactor Building Spray pumps inoperable during reactor operation.
