OF THE OCTOBER 24, 2019, PUBLIC MEETING IN ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND REGARDING DECOMMISSIONING PLANNING FOR THE NS SAVANNAH
Background
On October 24 ,2019, a Category 1 public meeting webinar was held between U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff, and Department of Transportation/Maritime Administration (DOT/MARAD) staff. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss decommissioning planning for the NS Savannah, prior to development and submittal of a License Termination Plan.
The meeting discussed recent and near-term activities, historical site assessment and site characterization, and dose modeling and final status survey plans.
The meeting notice can be found in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System under Accession No. ML19283C689. A list of attendees is provided in Enclosure 1 and DOT/MARADs meeting presentation is linked in Enclosure 2.
