SUBJECT:
MEETING
SUMMARY
A meeting was held with representatives from CP&L(the licensee) in Bethesda, Maryland, on March 21, 1980. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss (1) the Radiological Environmental Technical Speci-fication proposed changes (2) the Methodology for calculating dose release, and (3) the Process Control Program for Solidification of Waste. A list of meeting attendees is attached.
t Ed Branagan stated that comments from RAB on the Brunswick Environ-mental Monitoring TS's and ODCM would be provided within three weeks.
Leta Brown stated that coments in the meteorological area would be factored in with Radiological Assessment Branch Consnents on the same schedule. The staff stated that the RETS would be issued in the TS Appendix A format on a per reactor basis. CP&L agreed to provide a proposal for allocating releases at the site, since shared systems are in use at Brunswick, Units 1 and 2.
CP&L questioned the pro-posed requirement for calculating doses for intermittent releases based on actual meteorology at the time of the release. They sug-gested that this approach may be less accurate than using average meteorology because of the plant's location on the sea coast. The staff has this matter under review.
The meeting was adjourned with the following tentative schedule established for completion of the RETS for Brunswick, Units 1 and 2:
