This will confirm the telephone conversation of February 19, 1980, between Mr. C. Reed of your staff and Mr. L. Spessard of my staff, that a meeting will be held between the NRC (Region III) and Commonwealth Edison Company representatives at the Region III office, Glen Ellyn, Illinois on February 27, 1980 at 8:00 a.m.
This meeting requested by Region III is to discuss:
radioactive material transportation regulations; a specific violation of these regulations (700 mR/hr beneath a trailer of Quad-Cities radioactive waste received January 31, 1980, at Nuclear Engineering Company, Richland, Washington); and NRC enforcement options regarding the above violation.
