To assess the Standard Review Plan (SRP) and Generic Standard Technical Specifications to determine their relative value from a risk standpoint and their resource impacts.

ACTIVITIES DURING JUNE 1979:

A major effort at Sandia during June was in the continuing value assessment of the SRP sections.

A common methodology for use in both the High Consequence and Low Consequence Event categories has been developed using event trees with SRP sections as the event headings.

A BWR core-related event tree has been developed and those core melt sequences of'the highest probability are being utilized in the high consequence value assessment.

The high consequence event tree is being. characterized by computer to permit rapid evaluation of SRP section valves.

Similar types of event trees for BWR fuel storage and radwaste systems are being developed by SAI'as part of the Low Consequence Event effort.

SAI has developed accident mitigation event tree sections which are being added to the non-core-melt sequences from the high consequence event tree for core related low consequence accidents.
