SUBJECT:
PERRY HYDR 0 GEN CONTROL DESIGN FOR DEGRADED CORE ACCIDENTS By letter ated March 1,1985 (received by DL on March 5), the applicant J
(CEICO) provided a response to SER License Condition (5) regarding the Perry design for controlling hydrogen generated during a degraded core accident, in confornance with the recently amended 10 CFR 50.44 (new hydrogen rule).
The attachments to the CEICO submittal contain the design and analytical information, the scope of which was found acceptable by CSB (conmunicated to CEICO by letter dated February 20,1985).
RSB, ICSB, EQB and SGEB are hereby requested to review the CEICO March I submittal, as applicable, and provide their findings to CSB which has the lead in providing an integrated staff position for documentation in the next Perry SER supplement (to be issued in April 1985). The CSB reviewer is A. Notafrancesco.
Because of the lateness of the CEICO submittal, the deadline for receipt of the integrated staff position from CSS is extended to April 3,1985.
Document control is in the process of docketing and reproducing the CEICO submittal (which is voluminous), and has committed to the Project Manager (John Stefanol to have each of your offices copied no later than 14 arch 8, 1985.
A. Notafrancesco has been given an advance copy of the applicant's submittal.
