Dear Mr. Youngblood:

This letter and its attachments are provided in response to your letter dated February 20, l985, and to address SER License Condition (5) regarding hydrogen control for degraded core accidents. The attachments provide the hydrogen design information described in our February 5, 1985 letter (PY-CEL/NRR-0186L),

including our preliminary evaluation of the PNPP distributed igniter system.

This submittal is consistent with the scope of information described in our letter, which the staff found acceptable for determining compliance with hydrogen control requirements to support a full power operating license for the Perry Nuclear Power Plant.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Very truly yours, w
