ORDER IMPOSING CIVIL MONETARY PENALTY (EA 84-137)
This refers to the letter dated Octcber 21, 1985 from General Public Utilities Nuclear Corporation (GPU Nuclear) to the Director, Office of Inspection and Enforcement in response to the Notice of Violation and Proposed Im,cosition of Civil Penalty sr 't to you on tugust 12, 1985.
The letter and Notice described a violation invo ving acts of discrimination against Richard D. Parks, a Eechtel empicyee, or raising safety concerns.
I have carefully considered your response in which you deny the violation a..d have determined that you have providec no additional informa tion that wculd change the staff's basis for either the violation or the proposed civil penalty. Accordingly, I hereby serve the enclosec Order on GPU Nuclear imposing a civil peralty in tne amcunt of Sixty-Four Thousand Dollars ($64,000).
In accordance with Section 2.790 of tne NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10 Code of raceral Regulaticns (1985), a copy of this letter and the enclosure will be placec in tne NPC's Public Document Roo.n.
