George E. Lear, Chief Hydrologic and Geotechnical Engineering Branch Division of Engineering
SUBJECT:
INPUT FOR DRAFT EIS ON PLANT ACCIDE'iTS 9 CLASS 9, LIQUID PATHWAY ASSESSFENT Ycur memorandum of November 7,1980 requested our input to the San Onofre, Susquehanna, and Catanche Peak EIS by December 1,15, and 30, respectively.
During the development of Action Plan III.D.2.3, we anticipated organizational support to mobilize resources to deal with the Class 9 - liquid pathway issue. The starting date for the effort was delayed until 1982.
Because of the delay and lack of support for resource allocations we are unable to process the case by case analyses as rapidly as we would otherwise desire.
In addition, we are called upon for similar analyses for the THI Decontamination EIS and completion of the complex Indian Point assessment.
For the reasons discussed above, we must reschedule work on your task. We anticipate supplying Chapter 6 input to your coordinating authors as indicated below.
