It is requested that License SNM-1067 be amended to restrict the maximum allowable enrichment of UO2 in the Nuclear Laboratories to <20", in the U235 isotope. Our present license allows uranium of any enrichment. This has been re-evaluated recently and a restriction to <20% enrichment is de-sired.
Accordingly, it is requested that Page XI*I-1, Rev. 4, dated 3/15/74 of our present license be replaced by the corresponding page, Rev. 5, dated 12/21/79 and that Item 6B of our Materials License be revised to reflect the above change.
The proposed license change contained in -his application is considered to be an administrative type change as defir.ed in 10 CFR 170.31 and the re-
, quired fee of $150.00 is being forwarded directly to the License Fee Manage-
/ ment Branch under separate cover.

,e 13.0 NUCLEAR LABORATORIES This license is intended to auv.orize the Nuclear Power Systems Division to receive, store, use and transfer in all laboratory facilities for research and development and manu-facturing, source material in any chemical or physical form, and special nuclear material enriched to less than 20?! in the 235 235 isotope U
, in lots of 350 grams U For uranium enriched 235 235 to 5% or less U
, a limit of 740 gms U applies. All mass limits will be separated by at least 12 ft.
Total quantities of source and SNM will be as described in Section 4 of this license.
The Nuclear Laboratories are therefore authorized to re-ceive, store, use and return special nuclear and source material from the manufacturing facility in accordance with the provisions therein.
It should be noted that work under these transfers will be of an analytical nature and that the material will ultimately be returned to the Nuclear Manufacturing Facility - Building #17.
These transfers will not require the issuance of the applicable transfer documents to the NRC since the material must be transferred in accordance with ' a provisions of the license, and will be handled as a departmental transfer and controlled by the Nuclear Material Management Procedures described elsewhere in this license.

As of this date, the fee has not been received.
