Docket No. 50-344 (Control Building Proceeding)

Gentlemen:

On August 27, 1979, Portland General Electric Company (Licensee or PcE) filed Licensee's Motion for Summary Disposi-tion of Specified Contentions with respect to a number of contentions filed by Coalition for Safe Power (CFSP) and Consolidated Intervenors (CI).

Since such filing by Licensee, a portion of the fore-going Motion has been mooted by the Board's Order of October 17, 1979, which dismissed all of CI's contentions.

In light of such development and in order to simplify responses to the Motion and decision thereon by the Board, Licensee hereby withdraws the Motion of August 27, 1979, and substitutes therefor the en-closed Licensee's Motion Dated February 7, 1980 for Summary Disposition of Specified Contentions.

The enclosed new Motion seeks summary disposition of the same contentions of CFSP that were dealt with in the Motion of August 27, 1979.

As to such contentions, the substance of the Motion and appended affidavits remains substantially similar to the Motion of August 27, 1979.

In some instances, the affiants have changed because of changes in work responsibil-ities within PGE and Bechtel since August 27, 1979.

Respectfully submitted, RONALD W.
