Daar Sir:
I am a deeoly concern-i citiven who wishes to excress.her opposition to the further development of Nuclear Fowar.
It has been recorted by the Pres-idant's Commission on tha accident at Three Mile Island in the words of Carolyn D. Lewis (a member of the commission) in her recent Newsweek article: "the ultimate nuclear accident is projected to kill or sicken some 45,000 people 11 mediately, to cause renetic damage to generations in the future and to make un-inhabitable v st areas of land and water."
This is a gamble I am not willing to support, simply to maintain our present lifestyle.
It becomes obvious to me and I'm sure to anyone who followed the events that happened at Three Mile Island that human error cannot be elicated.
It did in fact cause a near disaster at Three Mile Island.
What horrified me and caused me to ally myself in conscience with the forces opposed to further nuclear develorment was the gross irresponsibility of the authorities who failed to evacuate the people whose lives were in danger.
In fact these ceople were de-ceived into believing that there was no danger.
These facts have convinced me that we are neither technologically nor morally advanced enouzh as a race to deal with the enormous responsibility of nuclear power and its threat to humanity and its enviornment.
